Had a whistling noise like an old fashioned kettle the other day. It started when I pressed the remote unlock button to get in the car and seemed to be coming from the instrument cluster. The noise did not stop when I put the key in the ignition and started the big, noisy up and down - round and round lump under the bonnet or when I turned the blower on and off, but it stopped as soon as I pressed the brake pedal to put it in gear. It hasn't happened again, but any ideas anyone? QUID FACIUM TIBI

Doesnt seem to be any of these - it was a definite high pitch almost electrical sounding whistle which stopped dead as soon as I pressed the brake pedal. I will have a look/quick spray, but as it is very intermittent it could be some time before I know if it has worked. QUID FACIUM TIBI

Only ever happened to me once many years ago and in my TD6 , the consensus has always been its an errant signal to one of the parking sounders possibly due to low voltage , not an indication of anything that has been proved serious. 2008 MY Supercharged

Ive had that a few times too. It tends to fade away after a while. Nover could figure out what it was - the parking sensor issue above is most likely cause I suspect.
