I hope you mean overfilled on the dipstick by 2mm. If it really is 2cms I'd be inclined to get some out.

Sure it's not steam? Mine puts out a surprising amount of steam for a surprising length of time from a cold start on a cold morning. This time of year no steam or smoke at all. |

See that's my issue. It's been roasting and it still does it on startup. Looks like a bloody steam train at first but then after 5-10secs it's gone

I'd drain out some oil. 2cm above is too much above really to be honest. Easiest method I would use is to loosen the oil filter till it starts to spill out. It should run off the filter and be reasonably easy to collect in a pan. Collect about 1 litre out and retoghten the filter. that should bring you back to within the min max levels. If you take too much out, then it's easy to add more back in. V8 or else ... |

I wouldn’t think the car would still be running if the dipstick was 20mm above the max mark Fisha... Probably meant as 2mm |

Apologies. Looked at the dipstick again. It is overfilled but between 5-10mm which is still alot I know. I will try and extract some via the filter.

Mine is an 05, done 93000 miles and no smoke at all. I would look at the oil level first! Alex

Hard so say from that video, but it does look a little oily to me. Get the oil level down to the proper amount and that may solve the problem. P.s. I wouldn't necessarily drain via the filter as it could be messy given where it is on the SC. Maybe better using the drain plug. |

The drain plug is messier. It doesn't really drain when you loosen it. Its an all or nothing affair with that plug.

Accessed from underneath, front of the engine. Under tray off job. Personally I would use the drain plug, but you can decide. |
