Has anyone ever had a good deal off Saxton's...they seem to get slated everywhere...and their cars, in fairness, usually look very nice Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I think because they are such a high volume seller of used 4x4's they are bound to have some unhappy customers for various reasons. Generally you only get to hear about problems, less so about good experiences.

My view (and this doesn't just apply to Saxton's) is that problems will always happen and the measure of a dealer (or other retailer) is how well they deal with the problem once it's occurred.

In this case it looks like they have done the right thing by providing a full refund, although you do have to question why they didn't discover the clocking before they sold it on.

I nearly bought a FF from saxtons and at first me and my other half was very impressed, very pleasant and made you feel very comfortable. As soon as i said i wanted to go away and think about for 24hours they became very rude. In the end i bought privately and when i called them to tell them they asked me why i bothered to see them in the first place and waste their time and resulted in them hanging the phone up on me!!!!

I brought the overfinch from saxtons supposedly as described with a genuine 65k on the clock.
In reality, the first owner had clocked it, the second owner brought it from saxtons and realised it was clocked. Trading standards investigated and proved it was clocked and eventually got second owner most of his money back. Now saxtons being aware should have either a) declared mileage is incorrect or b) sold it in auction.
Now saxtons being greedy put it back for sale without declaring anything to get top dollar.
