Having been away staying in my wooden hut by the sea the week:

On the way down (1 hour journey, motorway speed, @ 24 degrees outside), the air con started pumping out vapour from the driver's side face level vent. So switched it off for @ five minutes. HVAC actually did a good job of circulating cool air till I switched it back on, and then the air con worked even better than ever.

On the way back today, (@ 25 degrees outside) drove the first 5 miles with air con off and all windows down as was hot inside having been stood in the sun all morning. Once we hit the dual carriageway windows up air con on. Temp setting on 22 both sides, and thumbwheel on 1 blue. Then we hit traffic, bigtime - 1hour 15 minutes to do 2 miles. Started to get concerned, given I have removed the viscous fan, but all seemed well. When the chance came took off into the New Forest, found more traffic in Lyndhurst (when don't you) then once back on the M3 more traffic. Eventually made it home 2hrs 30 mins after setting off (45 mile journey normally).

Passengers, who were both sat on the "shaded" side, complained bitterly about the cold,asking for it to be turned off! (But they were impressed with it!) All the luggage and contents were cold too when we unpacked.

Super impressed with the air con's behaviour (I'll forgive the blip on the way down, only the second time it has done it, but it seems a switch off and on again fixes it, for me..) and that engine/coolant temp held firm in these warm temperatures without a viscous fan. You can't hear the air con fans kick in from inside the cabin. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Just had my aircon re-gassed (Goupon deal!).

That vapour is nothing to worry about, in south africa, sometimes for fun on a hot muggy day, iwitch the AC off, and then wait a few mins and back on watch the vapour coming in.
If you go to Topix, the build build details will tell you what type of heating cooling system your RR was built with and mine has the High output aircon.
My LR D1 with v8 had a brilliant aircon, even driving in 40C in namibia once the car was cooled down inside you could turn it down to 2-3.
But this FFRR i havent yet even at 27C been able to put the fan on full for more than 1 min. and then i turn it down to one or 2, or i get brain freeze.
Seriously, i have to turn the vents away or my head gets really cold.

i had a jag, that had working air con. now that's rare! but, if you did that 'turn on the air' at speed, the condensed water, sitting on the evaporator, is then 'frozen off' rapidly, and it used to blow up the screen, and condense, and for a few seconds, it went completly 'white-out' like a cold morning window. PANIC! so, i would advise, to switch on when not moving, or, adjust from hot, slowly. to desired temp. but it looks impressive, like opening a freezer door!

IF you get the air con filled with gas right up to the top of the green section on the charging machine it could freeze you nicely. Just don't go above the green or, as I found out, the air con compressor can turn to a block of ice.
