(L322) 2006-2009 Door mirror power fold.

I have an issue with 2007 drivers side power fold door mirror (I suspect a stripped gear.) Can anyone tell me how to get at the power fold motor/gearbox. If you take the mirror glass out, the front and rear parts of the mirror body appear to be plastic spot welded together in 3 places??? I have a broken passenger side mirror which shows me if I could access the motor/gearbox it could be repaired.
There do seem to be other threads on power fold mirrors, but the motor they show is not the same as mine (can only assume early 2002-2005 type?) Would appreciate any help. Thank you.
Regards,
Mike.

Thank you for your quick reply. Unfortunately the info you refer to is the removal of the mirror positioning motor not alas the power fold motor/gearbox. Thanks again.

Mike.
