When I did my front suspension units the top ball joint on the drop link had a washer.
According to RAVE the washer is a hardened one:
"Fit washer to ball joint, fit anti-roll bar link, fit nuts and tighten to 100 Nm (74 lbf.ft).
CAUTION: The washer is hardened and must be fitted in the correct position."
For information the correct position shown is on the link before it is fitted to the flange and not on the outside adjacent to the nut.
Perhaps you have the washer in that position which is throwing you a little?
You also need a thin 18mm open ended spanner to hold the flange when tightening the nut. John
