Did someone on here not mention that if something goes mechanically wrong with these OF 580's that they can be a PITA to repair .....🤔🤔 ====================================

To think, 5 litres, 380bhp and 376lb/ft used to be big numbers. Just goes to show how far things have evolved.

Not even as much power as the 4.2SC ... not sure I see the point other than the rarity.

Why buy an Underfinch when you could have a really nice 4.2 S/C with a year's free petrol and a decent service for the same money?

Never saw the attraction of OF since the demise of the Classic 570. All fur coat and no knickers.

To be fair it was quite a hike in power over the contemporaneous 4.4. Then the SC versions came out and it all went pear shaped.
I like unusual and if I went for a 322 I'd be keen to have one although I have heard stories about the crankshaft too. This one had had a complete engine rebuild so it would be interesting to see what was used.
And then it was withdrawn anyway. Wonder what happened there?
Wood and Pickett cooper s looked lovely too.
