All this talk about air filters got me curious again. I just ordered a K+N and 2 Moog upper ball joints for $90 tax and shipping included. I needed the filter and adding the ball joints gave me 40% off with free shipping.
What I haven't found regarding the testing of air filters is of the percentage of particles that pass through the filter how much of that is of the size that damages engines. Although sources differ on particle size it seems to be between 10 and 20 microns. Larger or smaller not much of a problem. K+N seems to do this well enough.

I run K & N filters on all my "performance" cars, haven't fitted one to the FF.

I am wary of foam filters as my friend had a Pipercross foam filter on his XR2 (many years ago) and a piece came off and blocked the carburettor.

I would never run an engine without effective air fitration.

My son had a Sunbeam Stiletto with shot rings caused by the pervious owner, her ran it to France and back with no fiter...........pillock!!  Regards

Beware! You can find a K&N type filter upsets some turbocharged models as they allow MUCH more airflow...

Fit one then remap it No problem
