It's difficult to know. I measure 46",which is a xxxl but I'm mindful that the last one to buy said it was considerably bigger than stated. I suppose to be comfortable a pit to pit of around 25 or 26" would be right/ Thanks Steve

pit to pit on the xxxl is 24" fabric does seem quite stretchy though
