Rear doors Spring too powerful

I just wondered if anyone else has dented other cars whilst opening the rear doors on an l322 Range Rover?
You try and open them carefully in a confined space and once it hits the opening Spring they fly open with force.
I'm on my third and it's been a problem on my drive and car parks.
Excuse me if its been discussed before (new member)

Welcome and I don't know about door springs being too strong but these are heavy doors so it doesn't take much of a tap to dent.

I know what you mean about the springs being strong but I never had an issue with denting other cars. The back doors are short so you must be parking very close to other cars. Just park in bigger spaces or take a Range Rover space (park in the middle of two spaces)

Parking bays are way too narrow for anything bigger than a Eurobox size vehicle.

That can also be a problem in single garages, you try to open the rear door a little wider and the spring suddenly pushes the door into the wall and chips paint off the corner of the door... one can put some cushioning material on the wall or just try to avoid the trigger point. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I find myself doing this all the time Whistle Whistle

Nobody's complained yet, although my wife thinks it's kind of embarrassing Shocked Shocked

One of the reasons I don't take it to the office car park. My daily runabout had no dents or scratches when I bought it but within 3 months it had scratches and little dents in all the doors from other careless drivers (and elderly parents!!!) Big Cry 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I always cup the bottom corner of the door when letting the kids in or out. Especially in car parks. However have dented the side of Swmbos car many times..... Whistle apparently....... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
