5200lm x 2 high beam bulb?

I've been following the previous threads reg LED upgrade of the external lights with interest.
Now I've upgraded the bixenon with the D1S Osram Xenarc Nightbreakers, but I'm very interested in getting a better high beam light than the 55w halogen bulb.

I've been looking at the ZY P6 110w 10400lm H7 upgrade kit (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ZY-P6-110W-10400...SwvgdW6iet. This LED light have adjustable fucus length - then it should be easier to get correct light characteristics.

Anyone that have replaced the halogen H7 with similar LEDs in the l322?

Hi Eirik,
I'm just about to replace my D1S Xenons in my S/C with the Qsram Xenarc Ultimate Nightbreakers because I just can't see far/well enough on dip beam. I don't know if it is true or not, but I have been told that Xenon bulbs loose their effectiveness/efficiency when about 10 years old....my S/C is 2006 so probably correct!?!

I changed the H7 main beam bulbs in my S Type Jag last month for the Nightbreakers, and the difference is outstanding. I am planning to put the Osram H7s in the Rangey as well whilst lights are stripped. I will also upgrade the Xenons in the Jag for the D2S versions when funds permit. Wink

Cheers,

Hi, I've just ordered a set of the "ZY P6 110w 10400lm H7 Canbus" upgrade kit - I will report back to you guys when these LEDs have arrived and I've replaced the standard 55W halogen H7 bulbs with these LEDs.

Did the replacement today. Relatively easy job, some minor adjustments to the H7 clips/mounts were needed to make them fit with the P6 LED bulbs. The focus point of the P6 LEDs are adjustable, and it was easy to get the LEDs in the same distance from the "bulb base" as the filament in the original H7.

In the first trial the LEDs were blinking appr 5 times when turning on the ignition. I therefore had to use the IID tool to disable the CM (cold monitoring) for the L+R high beams, and then this initial blinking disappeared.

Before replacing the high beam halogen H7s with this LED kit, I marked the spot/pattern of the original high beam reflector on a large sheet in our garage. After the LED was installed, I checked the new spot/pattern - identical focus as original (but of course much brighter).

The high beam is now very bright and powerful, absolutely amazing difference from the original H7 halogen bulbs.

The LEDs are improving rapidly, thats for sure!

However, headlights in UK are limited to 55w - anything greater is illegal for road use

We have the same situation in Australia, people make these illegal modifications and it annoys the hell out of other approaching road users. Mad

Just to clarify, this modification is done on the high beam H7 bulb only. The new LED has the exact same power consumption (55w/bulb) as the original H7 halogen bulb. This high beam reflector is only on when the High beam headlights are turned on. In Norway it is allowed to have extra high beam lights in addition to the original high beams in the car.
