So, after numerous attempts to 'fix' my poorly car I decided to check the coil packs only to find that I have seven nice shiny ones like on the right and one dodgy looking one on the left.
Moral of the story; don't just check the plugs and coil pack spring area but split the pack and check more closely next time.
