United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Buckingham Blue
Fuses

Hi all

While trying to get the rear screen demister working (another story!) we noticed that some of the fuses in the passenger fuse box and the rear fuse box didn't match what was in the handbook for our 54 plate 4.4 Vogue (with touch screen Sat Nav). So we changed them to match and now.....no Sat Nav, Radio or CD also the rear passenger, Driver's side heated seat won't come on. The passenger side works fine.

Of course we didn't take any photos of the fuse boxes when everything was working (that's way above us!) (me, darling! Bow down ).

I've checked the 2005 fuse diagrams and they seem exactly the same as ours (by the way, we were given an Owners Manual from 2002).

Does anyone know how we get it all working again? Maybe if anybody out there has a 54 plate FFRR they could post a couple of photos of the fuses and we can take it from there.

Many thanks

Owen

My 54 fuses are exactly as per the Handbook.
As a starter I would look at fuse 49, see if it has blown, this protects most of the sound system.
At least you might be able to get that back on. Thumbs Up

Hi and thanks for getting back to me so soon. Checked and changed the fuse but no joy.

Likely causes

1. You have create a bad connection by messing with it.

Try reseating the fuses you messed with.

2. A fuse has blown. Remove and inspect the fuses in the area you messed with.

You may wish to do this with the battery disconnected. A reset could also fix the problem you see.

^ Probably. Thumbs Up
You could always try putting a 20A fuse in each of the unused fuse positions and see what happens.
Just use one fuse and move it along each time.

Andy K and nicedayfor it, thanks for your help. Got it all working by popping fuses back into whatever was missing. It seems the layout stickered to the fuse covers is more accurate than the owner's manual!

Anyway all is working and we're back to being happily married! Very Happy

By the way, does anybody know where I can get some of the latest Sat Nav DVDs as ours are 2004 and sometimes takes us around a very scenic route.

And one last thing, I have an OBDll reader, does anybody know where I can get the software to do fault finding, service resets etc? A guy on the Triumph Explorer forum has written a program for that bike, wonder if there's similar on here?

Cheers Very Happy

Glad you got it sorted, you may wish to follow the very old wise saying....

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Really is a good idea to leave things alone and not play, you could do some serious damage if your not careful...

As for software, there is a site sponsor called GAP, they have written the software to fix a Range Rover, it has taken them years and as such they do charge for it but they can do more than the dealer can... It's called an IID tool and is a must if you are going to keep one of these for a while, there are other cheaper options but none can do as much as the IID... Thumbs Up

You can get a later disc from the main dealers, you probably won't want to when you find out the price though... Big Cry Pete

Fingers have been burnt! It was the lack of rear window demisting that began it all.

Thanks for the info, there are also a few on eBay, I may go down that route (pardon the pun) for DVDs.

What do you (or anybody) think of these?

Don't know, when I looked at them it was apparent the IID was the best, their back up and help when things go wrong is first class and it can do everything, I think these other ones are not as comprehensive...

Maybe someone has one of them and can tell us what it does... Question Pete
