Unless you're 9 feet tall you will need a step ladder to get up to it |

Sad as it may seem it will only get very minor use.

Do you need a full on roof rack or will roof bars do?

Roof rails cause extra slipstream drag and higher fuel consumption plus a lot of wind noise |

I have roof rails, they are fixed then you just clip the bars into them when needed. The problem with a full rack is the noise and mpg loss. ![]() |

What are we guessing on MPG loss?

Rails are fitted lengthways so have no effect on aerodynamics as the leading edge is so small it keeps Frontal Pressure to a minimum also as they are one solid piece you get no Flow Detachment, The problem comes when you fit crossbars as these cause significant turbulence, this is what causes the noise. As a result of the turbulence and frontal pressure this increases your Drag Coefficient, this is what reduces your MPG. ![]() |

Looks good David. Still think I want the full Rack look. Will take the plunge. What's the worst that can happen. Apart from a kicking from Mrs Jem. 15MY SDV8 Vogue SE |
