As far as I know, it can be without an MOT as long as it is on a SORN. The problem is that if you've let that lapse, then you need to get it taxed and for that you need an MOT.....

I wasn't aware you could do the removal without an MOT.... We have done some quite extensive work on customer cars for the sole purpose of removing the customers private plate... As recently as the last few months too...

Or you can transfer onto a retention document - you pay the fee to transfer onto a vehicle but it is just on a retention document or at least you used to be able to |

So if it has neither an MOT or SORN, can you not just declare SORN and then transfer off the plate? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
