Change Key Fob Buttons?

I really need to change the buttons on my key fob.

If I buy one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fits-Land-Rover-...Swrx5UW5HO

can I straight swap the buttons? (this is the right shape for my car)

I only have the one key, so have concerns about pairing back up, once I have the key apart. (Although didn't have a problem when I changed the fob battery a while back).

All advice welcome Wink .

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

I have just done this. It looked to me that the rubber would be very easy to damage and so I pulled the new key blade out of the plastic fob by pulling it side to side with a pair of pliers. There are no lugs on the blade. Did the same to the new key but this time I wrapped the key in some thick cloth so that it did not damage it then glued the key into the new fob with superglue. Tried it and all seems OK. 2011 4.4 tdv8 Kahn. 2007 supercharged with 2012 lights and overfinch body kit. P38 with a full J.E.Engineering conversion

I tried the replace fobs but had no success so I bought one of these off flea bay eBay Item No. 322204913452 It worked great so I changed my spare key buttons too. I now have 2 fully functioning remotes. Thumbs Up

Well bought one of the fobs in the OP, stripped it down and removed the rubber buttons. Held in with round holes instead of the slots on the original key. Had to make a cut down the centre of the two buttons at the bottom to get it out! Oh well, so persevered and dismantled original key, all went well, transponder fell out, so able to rip out the old one without problem. Fiddled and squeezed the new one into place (easier without the transponder in there!) and got a reasonable fit. Relocated the transponder and plonked the electronics unit back on top. Did up the case.

Went out to the car and press unlock. Nothing Shocked

Pressed lock and the car locked Laughing Must have unlocked the car from inside whilst fighting the screws back in.

Started car, all is well, but the simple button replacement may be a better bet, check it has the slots and not the holes.

Might get the key cut in any case as an emergency get in the car key. .
