Cleaning my FF

Had my Westie now a week and think it deserves a clean, even though its not that bad having only done a couple of hundred miles. Biggest issue seems to be tree sap...!!

What would you recommend for cleaning. Just quick wash and go at the moment. I will get on to more OCD cleaning a bit later Whistle

I have a pressure washer with foam lance so which foam would do the job do you think? 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

I'd start as you mean to go on, Buy decent stuff. Meguiars Gold Class shampoo with a lambswool mitt and the three bucket method are a good start and cheap enough. The Halfords lambswool mitt is very good too.

I only jet wash mine underneath, never directly on the paintwork, although I will do the alloys to blast off the majority of the brake dust.

When you get round to the OCD side of things, I can thoroughly recommend using the Meguairs Ultimate range, the compound REALLY brings out the depth in the Santorini that most people never see or achieve. Discovery 4 HSE

I find the best foam is valet pro ph neural, clings really well,
Then use the two bucket method with grit guards one with soap and one for rinsing, use a lambs wool mit so but to add swirls and rinse really well and dry, if you get water marks just use a good quick detailer and microfibre cloth.
Give me a shout when you want to give it a days work and I can tell you how to get it perfect!! 2010 defender utility

I'd heard that Maguires was good (and gtechniq) so will order myself some decent stuff and see how it goes.

TBH, never had a previous car that I was that inclined to spend so much time keeping clean.... Rolling with laughter 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

I had bad tree sap on my TD6 when I bought it and the only thing that would shift it was a clay bar.

Need to do my current one to get it decent and then carry on as I wish to progress.......

Unfortunately my drive has a huge oak tree next to it which I can't avoid parking under so will be spending lots of time regularly cleaning off tree sap Big Cry Big Cry 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

I also park under a tree and my cars live outside. I use clay bar about every 6 months and apply spray on wax. If there's a build up of brake dust or the L322 is particularly dirty, I will pressure clean it then dry with a large microfibre towel. That's not very often.

My weekly Saturday morning routine is to spray and wipe over the L322 with Chemical Guys quick detailer. I bought the concentrate which is a lot cheaper and will last about 6 mths.

I was doing the full pressure clean and wash every week. It just took too long. Quick detailer cleans and protects sufficiently for me. It seems to be as good as the full treatment. ______________________________

I would use dodo juice as a shampoo as personally i'm not a fan of meguiars gear there is so much out there to choose from ,I have actually given up using snow foam and just give it a good jetwash followed by a dodo juice wash then dried off with a pet hair dryer and finally go over it with finish kare 425 even when it's dirty it shines
