This maybe expensive

Mine has done 100,000 miles and is booked in tomorrow for

1. polybelt replacement including the tensioners - no point in stripping down and not replacing tensioners
2. Water pump - as its exposed cheap for OEM pump
3. CV boots - split
4. Ball joint offside - clucking
5. Suspension fault - rear offside sinks fast when parked and occasonal suspension fault
6. Service

It's a great car but just getting t back to where it should be is proving expensive. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE

Sadly some owners skip parts of the maintenance and only have them serviced as a bare minimum, we collective on here do much more, and hence pay the price.

Worth it though, once you have one that's all good. Discovery 4 HSE

I can vouch for the above! Bought ours 5 years ago with 85.5K on the clock for £11500 with a 'full service history', then discovered later on that it had not been fully serviced for at least 2 years, first major service was painful, new brakes, discs, all rear suspension bushes etc etc, plus a gearbox rebuild and subsequent radiator / gearbox oil cooler replacement, add in a new (water cooled!) alternator, fuel pump and suspension air compressor and our total spend to date is approaching £15k!!

However, it does sail through its MOT every time and apart from a few small issues (new key fob needed, scrape on rear nearside door where wife attacked a solid stone wall with it - she was being hassled by w white van man though!) and the nearside front headlamp being a bit reticent to switch on occasionally, we're getting there with it!

we're now approaching 130K

And they are superb vehicles! Big Cry

Hello Busa1400,

Just interested in your rear light conversion mate, fancy doing that one myself. How much did you pay and from where? Also, did you need a resister pack, if so, which one?

Much appreciated.

Ian

I brought the rear lights from Xenon Bulbs in Bradford. http://www.xenonbulbs.co.uk

Great guys, fitted including all resistors £300 - no canbus errors - drive in drive out.

Must admit spending money on much needed maintenance is one thing - on shiny things is something else Cool Cool Cool 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE

Busa1400,

That seems a really good price actually. Ive been looking at units from eBay for about £390 and then you have to buy the pack and also fit them, so your deal looks really good.
Any chance of putting a picture up when convenient?

Thanks,

Ian

I would be a little cautious/suspicious at that super low price... I would expect the lights to be Chinese fakes! OE lights cost loads more than that without fitting Whistle Let alone the body mods, drilling, correct fitting and wiring undates necessary Rolling Eyes

Proceed with caution Whistle

What is it with you - I have told you that I have had them fitted, with resistors and they work and work well - what is there to be suspicious about ???

I do not know if they were made by and Land Rover technician on hallowed ground wearing cotton gloves, or a chap in Taiwan in his underwear - they work, they look great - they are probably chinese or american or any other country you can think of, they are not 2007 OEM as they were not OEM in 2007

I did proceed with caution, i didn't hear you whistling whilst I did it, and I survived Whistle Whistle Whistle 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE
