Heated / cooled seats question.

Anyone know how the heating / cooling system works for the front seats? (MY2011).

Reason I ask is that my driver's seat cools really nicely, but doesn't seem to heat at all. Passenger side works fine both heating and cooling.

Checked fuses. All fine.

Is there a heating 'element' that could have failed just on the driver's side? Confused Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

apparently they use a thing called a peliter module which has either a heating effect, or a cooling effect depending on which way an electrical current is passed through them. Have a read up on
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoelectric_cooling
I believe the FF seat modules are coupled with a fan that then blows the hot or cold air into the back, or the base of the seat. Thy have a filter that is re-placeable as well.. Have a look in The WIKI. This is where I read about it all.

I have just fixed this problem but I can't garentee yours is the same , it was a split hose in the peltier cell in the back rest . When in heating mode the seats ECU's needs a temperature return which it can't get due to the split letting the air out but in cooling it goes closed loop so just keeps working , or some guff like that 😉
So what to do ? Well your seat has to come out and be checked over for possible damaged cells or broken wires . Get some help though ,they are heavy and I damaged my piano black trim💩 2008 MY Supercharged
