I'm from London, moved here in the 1990's so I can upset more "Northern folk" than I could from down there..... Rosco, I do exactly the same, I think it's called standards.... I'm with you, Pete. On one forum, the Admin has put Spelling Bee Captain under my Avatar. On the Aust LR Owners forum, there is the "Ron Clause" created by one of the Admins when I was a mere Moderator. The clause states, basically, use text speak and your post will be deleted. And I'm a grumpy old git. Lastly, I prefer "good" English because not everyone on international fora has English as a first language - not even, it seems, Englishmen. Ron B. Hey guys I went to Grammer school and onwards, got loads of O A levels, Degrees and stuff, but I can't spell. Not that much bothered now but as a youngster when a spelling mistake was pointed out it hurt. Please keep that in mind. However as to text speak I blame the use of phones to access the tinternet, but hey that is progress. |
