Do you use "standard" leather care products to keep the door cards free of grime? What "tools" do you use for cleaning?

I notice that on my door cards the "grains" are black; obviously from oily / dirty hands and dust.

Having tried a variety of specialist products I use... warm soapy water and a soft 'shoe cleaning' brush (quick wipe after with a dry cloth)

I use dilute APC (All Purpose Cleaner - which is available from people such as Autoglym or Meguiars, to name a few) sprayed on and rubbed / agitated with a soft brush to get in the grains. Wipe off with a soft cloth. Then apply your interior spray / enhancer of choice. Si. <This is my name.

I used some of the auto glym cleaner with......an....electric toothbrush, as I'm lazy !

Autoglym interior cleaner spray, soft nail brush, then damp cloth (old facecloth) rinsed often in warm water and applied until not picking up any more dirt (maybe have to repeat cleaner/brush if really ingrained) followed by dry towel. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Auto Glym interior car shampoo and a melamine eraser works an absolute treat!

I"ll keep to soft, warm, damp

Will source some Autoglym or Meguiars, or just make up some soapy water.

Hi there "Bellini", Which dilution ratio did you use?

4:1 for heavy duty cleaning
7:1 for medium duty cleaning
10:1 for light duty cleaning


Tried some "Handy Andy" and some grime was removed, but not all

The problem with being to specific is that...its to specific.

water based cleaner
wipe doorcard with damp cloth so the cleaner does not dry out
dip scrubbing brush in water, apply cleaner and scrub
wipe off grime
dry
if it still looks dirty then its ingrained and the only thing you can do it colour dye the doorcard
water based dye will adhere to the little pores, especially the doorcards which are that soft coating rubber/vinly stuff

I use a product designed for shoe cleaning on my leather stitching - it works like a charm.

By a company called Jason Markk. A quick Google and you'll find it.

Their premium shoe cleaner isn't cheap, but lasts ages and is designed to remove grime from high end trainers / shoes (designed for people that wear rare Nike Air Max that can cost in excess of £200 per pair)!

I either use their shoe cleaning brush which is excellent or a soft toothbrush.
