Maybe it is time to admit that I went over the edge three months ago and traded my perfectly working P38 to broken L322 with BMW V8. Laughing It had huge appetite for oil in cylinder 8. Found scores in cylinder 8 and bent rod in cylinders 1 & 8. Otherwise it looked good for a 300Mm driven engine. Now rebuilding new engine from block found from X5.

Hello

Hi all,

I'm a new Range Rover owner - as of yesterday - and forum member.

I have owned a RRS, back in 2010, but with the exception of my XJ I have not had a history with Jaguar / Land Rover.

I was a Merc GL350 owner for a considerable time but I opted to change for the new to me RR Autobiography (2014) as it seems a great car - here's hoping I don't get proved wrong. Very Happy

Looking to learn lots from the forum and hopefully not ask too many stupid questions.

Mick

Well, coming from a p38 you will have plenty of tools, and workspace, and enthusiasm, to do the rifght thing. These l322 early v8's are miles better, and if treated right, will go on for hundreds of thousands of miles.
Read up on fitting new chain guides, and using some RTV on the corners of new rubber gaskets, when reassembling, and pay particular attention, to reassembling water coolant joints, like o rings, with some lubricant, and also the better lower temp thermostat. I'm sure you have noticed how much cleaner the engines remain, internally, against the old rover engine.
Have fun.

After many months of searching and not knowing what to get, touareg V10 or RRS 3.6 and not finding the right one, actually each one i saw i didnt feel right. except one and RRS 3.6 which had 36000kms on the clock and the guy wanted to sell and didnt want to sell and was asking too much anyway.
Then the wife said have a look at this one and it was a TD6. Didnt know they even existed in this engine variation, and in fact hadnt thought about a FFRR. I saw a pic of the engine bay online and thought thats a straight six cover and but i dont want a v6. thanks to the crank problems.
But then the wife said just go see it. So i did, and bought it.
I sometimes think that the car comes to you when you look long enough.
I have a few things to do, like the pixelated dash digits and get the gearbox oil changed but otherwise she is a beaut. I am getting used to the rather noisy engine when accelerating from pull off.
Did the wheel balancing and alignment, needed the one rear wheel doing as well.
I have noticed that the tyres on the 18' rims stand higher than those on the 20" rims. How will my driving be affected if i use those?
the RR only has 222300 kms on. Is this low mileage for a 2003?
I am loving this FFRR

Just arrived - Help required.

Hi everyone,
Be nice, this is the first time i've joined any sort of forum but a colleague recommended i join you guys before i look anywhere else for advice / info.
So here i am with my issue, I've recently bought a 52 plate TD6 Vougue - but with only ONE KEY. EEeek!
Can anyone supply, ideally TWO FLIP KEYS, if so how much?
Also i need a while you wait service as cannot post my only key obviously.
Presume keys are blanks and cut by Locksmiths (Timpsons near me) but what about the internals ?
Willing to have a drive to prospective vendors, I'm in Swanley Kent.
Many thanks
Paul

Hello all, just joined up as I'm on the hunt for an L322 after years of liking them/working on them, it's about time I stopped putting it off and bought myself one! Just got to shift my BMW e93 on and the search will be on. Hoping to find myself a nice 07ish Vogue SE supercharged.
Matt

Hi There,
Living own under, found this site, very specific to the RR which is great. Have a TDV8 sport, and two D2 TD5's. My TDV8 has just had the alternator crap out on me whilst travelling Big Cry Big Cry ........ luckily in an accessible place so the vehicle sadly is on the back of a tilt tray presently heading back to Perth. Great vehicle wouldn't swap it Very Happy Very Happy .

Cheers Marty
