Range Rovers in films - poor show!

We are used to FFRRs and RRSs getting written off in Bond films, they even use new ones.

However I saw "Now You See It 2" tonight and they damaged a few L322's but they were 2002 models on a 52 plate, they didn't even bother to use face lifted old ones to make them look newer even though they belonged to the millionaires henchmen.

There was a rediculous FBI van with big letters identifying it in the middle of London!

Anyone else bothered about car detail in films or is it just me?! 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

With you all the way Rostonh. Mrs S just sighs and says its only a film, ignore it, but when the feature car is 'wrong', I can't ignore it. Drives me nuts!

+1 here. Used to be a scooterist many years ago and watching quadraphonia got me started on mistakes with vehicles in films. Jimmy changes gear 4 times with the clutch in and then drives his GS off the white cliffs and as you see it come over the edge it's turned into a Rally 200 I was a kid then and been complaining about mistakes ever since. Some of them are mind blowing And dont get me started on the amount of tyres marks on the road BEFORE the big spin or handbrake turn , how many times did these guys need to practice FFS !!!!!! 2015 4.4 AB

Quadrophenia is full of mistakes. Series 2 Escorts in street scenes and an Inter City 125 passing over the viaduct seen from Jimmy's bedroom window. Or Minder, where Terry's white Capri would change from a series 2 back to a series 1 and back again in the same episode.

Hate it when they get it wrong in films or on TV. Drives my wife nuts when I hit rewind and explain in far too much detail why it's wrong and why it matters.
Even my son is doing it now....... Very Happy

Mission impossible-ghost protocol, the LR90 in the Dubai scene kept swapping between wind down windows and sliding windows depending on camera angle Rolling Eyes

And don't forget the 60 plate pre 05 facelift l322 in fast and furious Rolling Eyes

I've seen a few films with old L322 FFRR and D3/4 on newer british plates than when the car was built.

That really winds me up as they've went to so much trouble to make a great film and with loads of detail yet let silly things slip up.

Surely with a big budget on fast and furious they could actually afford a MY10 to match the plate.

New BBC series at the moment set in London called New Blood. Upcoming episode (currently on iplayer but not yet shown on scheduled tv) has a 59 plate RR in it, which is clearly a pre 2005 version. It does end up upside down and on fire (which isn't a spoiler as you'll see if you watch the series) after a rather impressive series of rolls. I understand that budget constraints for something like this would suggest totalling a sub-10k car rather than one of the appropriate age makes more logical sense but because the character owner is portrayed as relatively wealthy they want to project the right image. 99.9% of the viewing public would accept the plate (if they even noticed the plate at all) and not think about whether the 'model' was right for the year.

Exactly! Funnily enough had the same conversation in the office car park the other day when a permanent staff colleague saw me getting into mine and went flipping heck Nick your day rate must be outrageous (I'm freelance). Ironically he was in a 16 plate Evoque.

The correct answer to what's it worth though is 'thousands in the value of new parts fitted in the last 12 months' Rolling with laughter Current Fleet:-
