4.4 tdv8 Front discs & pads.

Has anyone had a quote recently for replacing front discs and pads on a 2011/2012 tdv8 ?
Mine passed MOT yesterday but free safety check at MD highlighted that pads are 60/70% worn.
Thanks.

Thanks for that link Stan.
You were lucky to get any brake work done under warranty. I was refused on my previous Car.

60 to 70% worn means 30 to 40% left. For the sake of a few quid on a sensor I always wait until the light comes on and thus extract maximum mileage from the discs and pads. Just replaced the rears on mine when the pads got down to 1mm and the old ones were still working just fine. Thumbs Up

Incidentally, a free safety check on my wife's car showed the below pads as "Needing replacement" although I'm not sure what planet they were on TBH. That was a main dealer too. I guess that shows what a free check is worth.

^ I had the same guff from dealers ( Citroen & Merc). Imbecile at the desk said the discs and pads were worn so I replied, Good, shows the brakes are working. My question about manufacturers recommended minimum thickness for pads and discs was met with a look of puzzlement.....but both are worn and don't have as much material as new discs and pads sir..... they didn't get to work on my brakes.
