For those who have done the run to Le Mans before and got stuck in Rouen because the bridge/underpass was shut, it is now open and working properly now. Thumbs Up

Sounds good, we were thinking of doing the classic this year but went with the moderns. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If coming from Dieppe then the new lifting bridge is immediately as you arrive at Rouen and leads directly to the N338 without really touching Rouen. The N338 is the expressway linking to the A13 and then the A28 to Le Mans. The expressway gives the fastest trouble free run out of the Rouen conurbation.

If you are coming through the underpass and across the Pont Mathilde it is also easy to go west a short distance after crossing the bridge and again linking up with the N338. John

^thats the way I have been going the last few years and was thinking it was quicker, but on the way this year one of our convoy missed the turning and ended up going stright through, and came out in front of us on the other side..... Rolling Eyes

Coming from Calais this route is A29, A151, A150 as a diversion to the north of Rouen, it's the second A29 junction otherwise you end up heading back to Amiens which is in the wrong direction........ Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Or you could be civilised, an overnight ferry crossing with like minded petrol heads, stake frit, several beers and almost sanitary bathroom facilities. Followed by a spirited drive through Brittany and a possible contribution to the French exchequer. letters not necessarily in the right order

I am normally coming from Dieppe so the A150 into Rouen means crossing the new bridge and a clear run to the A13 without entering Rouen proper and no roundabouts or traffic lights etc. Thumbs Up John
