BBC TV and radio presenter Chris Evans has announced he is stepping down from Top Gear.
He tweeted: "Stepping down from Top Gear. Gave it my best shot but sometimes that's not enough."
"The team are beyond brilliant, I wish them all the best," he added.
He said he would continue with his other BBC commitments, including presenting the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show. ====================================

Chris Harris is superb, his youtube stuff is well watched and he could well be the man to lead them  Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I was at the recording of last nights episode and CE was pacing up and down very nervously between takes and swearing at the audience a lot!

I don't dislike the guy but I think the show will be better without him and I'm not even sure that the beeb need to replace him. Matt's doing an ok job and give more to both Chris Harris and Rory Reid who both could feel be the future of Top Gear

Ajay, I do dislike him and don't like to see people fail, but he was awful in that role, not his forte

Got to give the man credit for stepping down.

I think that Rory Reid, Chris Harris and Matt will do fine on their own. They just need to drop Sabine (apart from the odd bit here and there) and Eddie Jordan and the show will be on the right track. They have only just started, give them a while to bed in, a few trips to the middle of Africa in knackered Jalopies and they will bond and be the better for it like CHM did. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Good man for stepping down. Corbyn needs to follow his lead Now lose Eddie Jordan who was hopeless and the stupid Star in a Rally Cross car (always skip that bit) and concentrate more on car reviews etc. No point in trying to emulate Clarkson et al, it is a different dynamic and I found some of the bits without Evans and Jordan OK. SDV8 AB MY 2019

I've only made the effort to watch one since it restarted, used to record the last ones and watch them with the wife on Monday night but neither of us can be bothered to watch this one.

From previous comments though it does seem that the ginger one just tried to make it like TFI Friday! Dan
