Of that lot, rear entertainment is likely to be the most challenging - it's kind of had it's day & not many people order it these days.

It's kind of OK for very young kids, but most would prefer iPads any day of the week - much better and a lot less money Thumbs Up

I was thinking that! I've noticed as an option in the accessories section that you can fit iPad holders to the driver and passenger seats, I think I will go down that route Thumbs Up

when the price tag looks like a telephone number Shocked i am going to get what i want Twisted Evil

what i don't understand is why when ordering a new one they don't add on some of the extras, like adaptive xenons for £300 they are so worth it, park assist i like every man Shocked Shocked can park but its there, sliding roof!!!!

perhaps i am missing something? it looks more likely i will need to order a new one to get what i want, fully spec'd autobiography 108K plus a 5k discount from the dealer.

Sliding roof - if you don't plan opening it, then a fixed roof is better - one less thing to go wrong / leak and there is a bar across the middle of the sliding roof - the fixed one is a single panel.

There's plenty I could live without that others love - deployable steps - mine are switched off.

Dual sat nav display TV thing - never been used as a TV

Reclining rear seats - for the minuscule amount they recline, what's the point ?

The options are a personal taste / cost justification thing - that, after all, is why they are options Very Happy

I think the trouble you might have is that you are looking for a very recent car (price and parking assist mean it will only be less than a year old, I guess). The cars you will find are ex-demos and exJLR management cars. They don't tend to spec them with every tick in the box as the options depreciate faster than the car. So very subtle options, such as adaptive lights. just don't get specced. The thing about those types of option is that walking past the car there is no obvious difference and most buyers won't care enough to pass on a car that is right in other ways.

A private buyer might spec those but they will tend to keep the car for longer.

Up to you what compromises you're prepared to make then......

Tow bar can be retrofitted, but is very expensive - even the manual one isn't cheap

All the rest of your requirements are factory fit - even the adaptive lights - there was someone on here who got a new car as they forgot them off his order - and got to keep the 'wrong' car until the correct one arrived Shocked thread here

For that age, I'd be sticking to main dealers, so it's time to play around with the options on the web site.

Also worth hitting the phones - there are times when dealers miss off things like a tow bar or park assist from the spec they advertise, so if there's a car thats close, it's worth asking.
