Will be fine as you suggest. Continentals are quieter but have a tendency to wear on the edges. Pirellis are harder wearing but a little more noisy. Grip levels are pretty much identical.

@mzplcg Thanks for the offer. Would have been just the job. You were right about the wear on the edges. My front two had considerably more wear on the edges than in the middle.

We used to have problems where I worked (sports car OEM) with undertray bolts dropping out having not been tightened properly in the workshop. Because they had the heaviest pan heads in the world, they always ended up sitting thread up, ready to go through tyres. Happened to at least 1-2 prototype car tyres a year, And mine when I was loading up for some off site testing |

Just noticed that the two new Pirellis they put on the back are 255/55/R20 whereas the two old Contis on the front are 255/50/R20. Does that matter much? I'm not too bothered because it saved my holiday and the fronts will be replaced when I put the winter tyres back on... 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black
