Coming back to an FFRR-which one?

Hi everyone, I've previously had an FFRR- a 2005, 4.4 LPG, I've got a 2.7 Sport at the moment and its a decent car, certainly has better on road manners than the FF, but I just don't like it nearly as much to drive, I can't explain exactly why, somewhat to do with the interior though.

Anyway my problem is, I can't decide what to get, I do about 8k Miles per Year, mostly local stuff with the odd long trip.
Originally I was looking at spending about £13k-£14k on a 2007 or so TDV8, but then I looked at ones a bit pricier and you can now get the 2010 facelift models for £18k-£20k, and they do look a bit fresher and have a better infortainment system from what I can gather, are there any other differences?, then looking again for £22k-£24k you can get the again revised model with the 4.4 TDV8;.
I'm not in a position where money is no object by any means(I'd buy the new model if I were) but could afford to go for a later one, although I'm wondering if the money would be better off in the bank. Is there THAT much difference between them?.
I'm thinking a 2010 3.6 would be the best compromise, but really don't know weather to do it or not-either way the Sport will be going!!.

That's roughly where I was.... You might as well have the 2010 facelift car, then I thought for a few k more I could have the 4.4 TDV8... Job done. It's epic. I did come from a td6 though....

The interior is nicer on the 2010 onwards..... TFT instrument cluster is worth it....

A year ago we also looked at getting a RR Sport, but decided that the ride was just too harsh. Looked at the FF options and after a number of test drives decided the 4.4 was a must have.
The 8 speed box combined with the epic torque moves the car to a different level and the refinement is very close to L405 levels. Much improved from the 3.6.
It misses out on the L405 trick of being able to go round corners like a saloon and keep the ride quality, but pay 3 times as much and you can have that too Wink
Both a 3.6 and 4.4 will deprecate, but the actual amount over the next 3 years will be very similar.
I've no regrets stumping up a little extra for a more modern 4.4 It is a very relaxed way to travel.Very Happy Thumbs Up 2012MY Range Rover 4.4 TDV8 Vogue...now gone!

Does the 4.4 also not suffer the turbo issues of the 3.6?.

I believe it's a different setup, with different turbos. That's what swung me. Bought it before I drove it....

Check it's got water in the coolant tank though, mine had engine oil due to the oil cooler leaking - a common issue.

At 8k miles per year I would be looking at a 5.0 SC all day long.

If you can afford a 4.4 then buy one over a 3.6 every day of the week Bow down

BUT, do a little homework on spec sheets as the later the car, the less standard kit you get... A 2010 4.4 has MUCH more spec than an early 2011 and the later into 2011/2012 the less spec again Rolling Eyes

If you decide to go with a 3.6 then the itch for a 4.4 will never go away and you will never be completely satisfied.. Agueroooooooooo. 93-20
I swear you will never see anything like this ever again....watch it..drink it in.
