L322 Roof rack

Hello all
I'm thinking of fitting a roof rack to the l322 for carrying extra stuff when me and the good lady go caravanning.
I don't really want to spend a fortune on something I'm only going to use occasionally, I've looked at the Thule canyon roof basket and it seems OK.
Anyone out there got any experience with it?
Any other suggestions?

Cheers

About 600 pounds sterling I think. Very well built.

Cheers, Jerry

Fit it in the caravan?

In all seriousness the expedition rack is well built but doesn't half make a racket at motorway speeds. Some pipe cladding improves it no end. If you're only using it occasionally might I suggest some bars instead, or my preference would be fit it inside the vehicle or caravan.

I mean I spent 2 weeks in France with 4 people in the car camping and each with a lot of climbing equipment. But I'm youngish and prefer keeping things down so it'll fit inside. Ed

Have you thought about a pair of bars, and a roof box? The bars are harder to get secondhand, but the boxes are easier.
At least your stuff, is still dry, and not making flapping noises, as you drive. And can be locked, etc. Storage space is the problem, but people use ingenious roof pulleys in their garages, keeping it high inside, and still using its storage.

I posted that under "Any other suggestions?"

Did not note the request for "Fit it in the caravan?"

Cheers Jerry.

Apologies for the double post. THIS WRECKAGE

@Wogger,

I have a set of the roof bars spare from my previous range (I now have the roof rails). these are the ones that go at the front and middle of the car. They can take a roof box.

PM me if you are interested.

Best
DB

Thanks for the replies chaps.
Me thinks I might go down the roof bar way, as I've already got a set of Thule ones and cycle carrier I had on my Disc 3.
I just need to get some different feet to attach it to the l322.

Cheers again Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
