kind of thought that it wouldn't work at all to be honest, i don't have the telephone option on the head unit either, might just save my pennies and upgrade to an android head unit, at least that will give me a decent sat nav too |

It's a GSM (2G) phone. I bought a cheap full size SIM and inserted that into the carrier below the phone. On my iPhone, I set up two favourites, one to forward the iPhone to the carphone, the other to cancel forwarding.
