Indy recommendation in the Cambridgeshire surrounding area

As the title really, has anyone any recommendations of good independent garages for an L322 in or around Cambridgeshire. I'm near Huntingdon and whilst I normally do most of my own work, it's often handy to have a garage to run to for the undesirable jobs!

Recommendations on where NOT to go also appreciated!

Cheers,

Andy

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black

Hi Andy

I would also be interested to hear of any recommendations in this area too!

I'm currently considering Essex 4x4 but they are an hour away from me. I have also heard good things about Rogers of Bedford.

One place I will definitely NOT consider is a certain main dealer not a million miles away from me. I bought a pristine 2011 Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8 and took it to them for the brake hose recall. It came back with a chip in both offside doors and wing. Took it back for a day as they offered to do a SMART repair, but all they did was to try to polish the chips out!! Service Manager said "I thought they would have touched it up with a stick"! Censored

Got my own chap to do it and he did a great job as ever.

That's two of us not enamoured with the main dealers then!

The only place I came across when I ran a search was Iawa Classics and 4x4 but by the look of things they're more for the earlier models.....

Not a RR specialist - but I've taken all my cars to a local indy for over 10 years - he's never been stumped and 100% trustworthy & reliable.

The imaginatively named Franks Autos Rolling Eyes

There's a few other RR owners use him, but he'll work on anything & everything.

He has the most amazing wheel balancer I've seen - it has its own kind of rolling road and even tells him which wheel to put on which corner of the car Shocked

Yes, I know of Frank's. He's got a Hunter road force wheel balancer and the latest Hunter wheel alignment rig. Top bloke, but I'm less keen on the lads working for him.

Thumbs Up He seems to keep a good eye on them - at least whenever I'm there - and particularly for anything more complicated.

following the tip from Harris I've been using them for a few years with zero complaints. they look a bit rough and ready but they do know their spanners and have some talented people in the team.
