I am the end of the road with this one, and just about out of cash.

Try the connector on the ABS module itself. They are known for giving errors due to water ingress, if not in the connector then sometimes within the ECU itself. The ABS and Suspension are interconnected via CANBUS (needs to know the suspension height for braking) plus the HDC is driven by the ABS module (individual wheel braking) hence the errors you are getting.

Ok. That eliminates some stuff I think:
You could also disconnect the sensor and see how many pins are wired:
While you're doing that, check that you're getting the correct 5V reference (check each pin to an earth). Then Air suspension relay, EAS ECU connector or the EAS ECU. The EAS ECU is behind the glove box I think.

Have you ever had a leak from the windscreen? Pop off the left hand end cover from the dash (the triangular part you see with the door open) and look for any surface rust or signs of water ingress. I'm still betting your ECU connector is corroded or the ECU is damaged. Maybe as it cools down it works for a little while? Suggests a bad connector or dry joint in the ECU. |

The sensor is on the front left so only 3 wires anyway

I appreciate you say your battery and alternator are go but the fact the faults appear when you start the car suggests to me you have a low voltage problem at start up. These cars seem to regularly throw up your faults when started, usually they go away when the voltage rises again due to the alternator.
