Hi all,
I am up at Dawn's crack tomorrow morning to drive down to Bordeaux for 3 1/2 weeks.
There will be two of us in the car plus a lot of luggage (rear seats down I suspect).
Should I increase tyre pressures or keep them at "light/normal load" pressures?
The tyre pressure guide on the door suggests light (normal?) pressures are for up to 4 occupants.
I assume that two adults and luggage doesn't weigh more than four occupants?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Normal load I would say unless your luggage happens to be bags of sand 2021 L405 Vogue D300

I think an adult is classified as 75Kg, (can't remember who told me, though I did have a mate that woked in the design office at LR many moons ago, it may of been him)


- just done a Google search an apparently a test crash dummy is 77kg so i would have thought it would be the same industry standard.

So two people and 150kg of luggage woud be the same as 4 adults no luggage.

I drove back from just south of Bordeaux today

3 plus luggage - I went with the standard pressures - I lowered they yesterday as we we went down fully loaded & left some stuff there.

The A10 is shut just north of Tours - which meant that the A28 to Le Mans was quite busy - it's usually really quiet, so surprising to see a long queue at the tolls

No problem with fuel though

Had a leisurely drive yesterday from Warwick to Novotel Le Mans Est for overnight stop (to keep control happy!).
Kept pressures at light load on my 4.4SDV8 AB...no problems.
Took it easy, around 75mph the whole way.
Managed an impressive average of 39mpg, assuming the trip computer is telling the truth (not made by VW )
Just about to set off again for last leg to a gite near St. Emilion.

Arrived near St. Emilion at our rented gite in the middle of a vineyard...heaven.
Same as yesterday, steady 75mph...mpg for the whole 750 miles over two days is now 39.8...I am a happy bunny.
I think I'll buy a few bottles of the red fermented grape juice!

It really shows where the wind resistance kicks in - an extra 15 mph costs me close to 10 mpg - though the toll booth drag race probably doesn't help either

According to the car - 761 miles - av speed 72mph - 30.1 mpg

Flexi-plus on the tunnel and the whole journey takes about 12 hours
