You or rather the garage need to check coolant for hydrocarbons.

Very unlikely to need a new engine or even much work... read these threads, this is the problem with garages that don't understand the quirkyness of the FF...

had all these probs with mine found a leak at elbow joint at rear of engine also expansion tank do not remove cap when hot or you will cause an airlock and have to bleed system these rangerovers have a pretty high pressure system and are a bit troublesome m62 engine pretty bullitproof though. and unless the garage you are using is up to speed on these cars they are pretty much feeling in the dark get someone who has experience with them to work on it or it will cost you lots however these cars are great and i would not be without mine quirky or not you will learn a lot if you keep her hope this helps |
