Did you manage to negotiate a discount with the main dealer?

No, not a penny. It had already been reduced a couple of days before. I did have to agree with the salesman that it was probably the cheapest Westie currently available from a main dealer.

Here's a pic to start with......more to follow when I get it home.

Thanks Stan. Thumbs Up

And you were right - they were very nice. Dealt with a chap called Adam. Thumbs Up

Sometimes those "high value" dealerships can be a bit snooty but they were very normal. When we were there on Saturday they had a number of people come in, an elderly couple, couple with a baby and a pair of young guys, and they treated them all as if they were very much able to spend £150k on a new RR. In fact, I think they did sell a FFRR to the young guys.

My wife now wants a Disco Sport (she thinks the £37k one in the showroom was very good value Whistle ).....another LR convert..... Very Happy Very Happy

There was cake, biscuits and coke at Stratford so the kids were happy.......just as well as we were there for about 2 hours.

Oh no, haven't been able to pick up the Westie as planned.... Big Cry Big Cry

Spoke to the dealer Thursday and he said that the parts they needed to sort out the couple of items I picked up are not in yet.

They are being done as warranty items before I get the car as apparently they can't sell it without doing them as it is an LR Approved vehicle.

I'm disappointed I couldn't collect it today Sad but pleased that the warranty items are being sorted first Very Happy

Yes Stan, very frustrating, but I'd rather wait a few days longer and know it's all sorted. Thumbs Up 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

It was ready two weeks ago but I didn't want it sitting on my drive whilst I was on hols.

It's been really hard waiting for it as its my first FFRR and I wanted it straight away. 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

Well the day finally arrived and I picked up my Westie from Guy Salmon in Stratford this afternoon. Very Happy Very Happy

They did a great job of the little bits and pieces, replaced discs and pads all round which I wasn't expecting, and the car looks great. They even gave us some wine and will pick up the tab on a family meal out too because of the delay with the paperwork, which wasn't actually their fault.

Based on my experience I would certainly deal with them again. Thumbs Up

One thing I did learn is that the car was originally registered by the previous owner near me in Sussex so in a way it's coming home.... Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

It was faultless on the 150 mile drive home and I am so impressed with the engine and autobox.......it was just so smooth it was very easy to creep up to 90+ without realising. The driving position is fantastic (never knew looking down on other cars could be so much fun Very Happy ) and I can now see why so many people rate the FFRR.

Can't think of anything immediate that needs doing, although will probably be looking to fit side steps at some point as there is no way my elderly mum or in-laws would be able to get in un-aided otherwise.

I haven't smiled so much driving a car for ages Very Happy .......wish I'd got one years ago Big Cry

Anyway, will get some more pics up when I get a chance on the weekend 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey
