Restricted Performance, White Smoke, Lumpy idle.

So my 2010MY 3.6TDV8 decided to act funny today.

While going into a carpark I noticed it whistling / high pitched noise that went in time with revs. When leaving the carpark the noise dissapeared, but things were not right, the car went into restricted performance mode and i couldnt go above 30 km/h , absolutely no acceleration and pouring white / grey smoke out of the back (funnily enough its mostly the right hand exhaust, very little from the left)

Restarted the car and the same thing , also upon restarting it cut out , tried a few more times and its cutting out and throwing up weird errors and stuff like my surround cameras and radio not working (although the battery may be low from too many starts)

have had it towed to a dealer but it may be a few days before they can take a look Sad .
IIDTool gave the error P010C-21(2Cool , later changes to P010C-21(2c)

theres 58000~ miles on it.

I checked the upper intercooler hoses, they seem intact , although the right hand one (right hand facing the engine bay , Passenger side of an RHD car) seems quite soft whereas the left is pretty solid and cant be squeezed.

Any idea what hardship im in for ? Current Vehicles :

So it was the right hand turbo failed ,
They fitted it and discovered that the crank case breather was blocked so changed
Then the left hand turbo failed.
Theyve had the car 2 weeks , have been told 5 times it would be ready and it hasnt , supposed to go pick it up monday with a lovely €5k + bill.

But theyre going to to a mini valet for free so apparantly this is all fine Rolling Eyes Current Vehicles :

Hhhmmm after reading this I thought I'd search to see where the breather is to check mine. But doing a search it looks like they may not have one.
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic29087....e+breather

Is this correct that they may not have one?

But if they do, where is it, and is it easy to get to?

3.6 has a breather/separator.

It's behind the oil filter/cooler assembly.

It operates under vacuum from the driver side turbo, with liquid draining back to the sump

There is no mention of this being a service item, but I will be changing mine out soon as I've suspected this may be a cause for the driver side turbo failure.

Part number is - oil separator LR002343

Below is a bit of a mud map of how I interpret the Charge air air, EGR system and crankcase ventillation system to be.

A drawing of the breather system is in the manual, around page 1600. (Can't seem to upload it just now)

Mad

I'm interested if the OP had pictures of his blocked breather, or a reason why the passenger turbo failed as well??

No worries

Interested to see how you get on.

If you could ask for the old one, maybe, to see how it's put together/stripped for cleaning etc

I think they're about 50 of her majesty's pounds
