Le Mans 2016

Anyone going down this year?

We have a fair sized group heading down this year and are in Houx again! Couple of Porches, couple of discos a Lotus Evora and a camper I think.

Should be fun. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Enjoy, not been for a few years. It's changed so, so much since the heady group c days of the late80's when I first went, it's hard not to compare . What I don't like is the tits who go round dressed up as wimmin, it's like stag do Benidorm, sponsored by Audi!!

Every year we have the debate about the classic for next time. Maybe next year.

13 of us this year with a big marquee and tents. Not a stag do thing tho as we have kids coming for the first time.

Much excitement and I was almost convinced to take my mates fun bus..

By there won't be enough room.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

hope so. Though tbh I reckon I can get most of the way there on a tank in the disco. And I have a couple of big Jerry cans to take just in case.

Iirc that by the time Euro 2016 starts they should have sorted it tho. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

there's some kind of restrictions re fuel cans on the ferries and tunnel, best look into that if this is still going on when you go.. ... - .- -.

Just looked it up on the Chunnel website you can carry 30L in total,

Metal containers 20L in a purpose made Jerry can, 1 allowed.
Plastic containers max 10L each up to 3 allowed.

I presume that I can therefor have 1 metal and 1 plastic container. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Scotland 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

As I posted in the "what did you do with your FF" thread, I travelled from Dieppe to home (SW France) yesterday (on just over half a tank full Wink Very Happy ). I had filled up in Newhaven before crossing the evening before but there appears to be sufficient fuel available in France as all the Service Stations I passed were operating normally (although they have stuck a bit on the price apparently Crying or Very sad ).

I understand that the blockages at the refineries are being "dealt with" allowing fuel to get out.

In regard to carrying extra fuel, there was a sign on the check in at Newhaven stating that fuel in cans was not being permitted. Whether that applies to other ports I cannot say nor how well it is being enforced but it should be borne in mind. It would be a pity to lose spare fuel if it is enforced.

It is the first time I have seen such a sign and would think it is as a result of the French situation.

@NMJ was that information direct from the port? John
