Having owned both, 5.0 every time. To add to Stan's comments, 29% more BHP, 12% more torque and 7.4% increase in fuel economy (not that you will ever achieve that as you just have to keep testing that charger!), Adaptive Cruise Control, continuously adjustable dampers, improved terrain response etc etc

From strictly a reliability perspective I have been told by multiple dealer techs and service advisors as well as excellent independts like Dave Tallant, that the 4.2 is a more reliable engine.

Thanks to everyone with the replys. I don't want to talk it up but I've had nearly two years without any major problems, however now faced with getting the blower motor changed. Believe it or not the official book time for changing it is 7 hours 😳 That is all my warranty people with pay for. My local indie says 3 days.
