Which Engine in L405

Well I am thinking of a newer car, I currently have a 5.0L Supercharged AB L322 but I never use the power (well hardly ever) I get fed up with constantly putting fuel in so I will go back to diesel I think. I never drive off-road and tend to stick to speed limits so I was thinking of a Vogue SE and the 3.0L seems adequate and I am sure I read on here (but can't find it) that it is quieter and more refined that the 4.4, it should be its much more modern.

So my questions are will I miss much from swapping AB to Vogue SE and is the 3.0L Diesel OK for my needs?

I've even looked at a Sport Shocked Geoff

Drive one Thumbs Up

You should put less fuel in an L405, but it does sound like the 3.0 V6 would suit your driving style & needs.

I very nearly bought n L494 sport with the V6 - it actually has more power than the engine in the L405 - but decided we still needed the extra space for a few years - but once the kids are gone, I can see me in a Sport next time round - and I never thought I would say that.

Get yourself down to the dealership & drive a few Thumbs Up

I've driven both (extensively) recently and I went for the 4.4

If you are coming from a 5.0 you would miss it.

I found the 3.0 very short of breath on the motorway.

Got myself the 3.0 v6 not disappointed at all great engine, very good fuel economy and quick enough To be honest i don't understand the need for massive power in this type of car if you want to go fast buy something meant to be properly fast.

So 405, Vogue. VogueSE or another AB - oddly although mine has RSE (which never gets used) will i lose much more than the leather headlining etc?

I think the 3.0L engine will suffice, its a sedate cruiser after all, not a performance car and my racing and rallying days are over - well over.

I'll take the advice and get across to the dealers nearer the time. Geoff

'first sentence ' says he thinks he will go back to a diesel.....so it doesnt help saying '5.0' and posting a pic of a mustang...

frank, you obviously enjoy spoiling other members threads...
