yes i found the only way was to hose it all down/power wash it all

problem is if you wet it anywhere it leaves dirt rings round where you have cleaned so the only real way is to do it all at once and leave it out in the sun to dry.

mine is also sand and now looks great.

Strong solution of washing powder and scrub a nail brush outside on some paving etc.
Then hose off and allow to dry.
This works well on my ivory shelf so sand should be no problem. Thumbs Up

If you drive HGV's you should be able to get some TFR, I sprayed mine with neat TFR left it 5 mins then jetwashed, good as new... make sure you rinse it well off or it will rot.... Thumbs Up Pete

Had a sand one on my old one, used some vanish diluted , scrubbed it on with a brush, came up brilliant.

Genuine question rather than a suggestion.......

Do the learned members think using a carpet cleaner (with small spinning brush attachment) would work? I ask because the cleaner has a good suction phase which removes most of the water after the cleaning phase, leaving it dry enough to put straight back in the car during summer months, I suspect.

No I recon it would damage the surface, it only gets slightly damp, it's mostly plastic...

Carpet machines never seem to get all the cleaner out which could rot it...

Jet wash it, comes up good.... Thumbs Up Pete

Hang on, just remembered, I used the scratchy side of a dish washing sponge, no damage at all, left it in the sun to dry, I did take a picture, I'll go have a look...

Got to do mine as well as I pushed an overnight bag onto it, it unfortunately had rubber feet, and left big black marks on my Ivory shelf Big Cry There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I used Autoglym interior cleaner, scrubbing with soft nail brush followed by wet cloth followed by dry towel on my old parchment shelf and it worked well enough. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Well I used hot soapy water (washing up liquid), soft scrubbing brush and rinsed well - in fact hosed and left outside in the sun to dry. Must've been last summer Very Happy Geoff
