3.6 Vibration at idle

Hi,

New to the forum, so ''g'day'' from Brisbane!

Sorry for the question straight off the bat, but just wondering if someone could ease my mind with a vibration I can feel through the driver and passenger seat, when the vehicle is idling. Vibration is the same whether in drive, park or neutral. Also feels a bit boomy (resonating) in cabin.

Vehicle is new to me, so not sure if this is normal.

Any help appreciated

Gday mate. There are few of us on here from BrisVegas. It doesn't sound normal. It could be as simple as engine or trans mounts. ______________________________

Could be a number of things. What sort of vibration? Hard and tinny, lumpy idle feeling etc, Try running a couple of tanks with injector cleaner. If it's happening in neutral then I would suggest engine related, as suggested mounts could be looked at, but would start with cleaner and take it from there. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the replies!

Noise is low frequency, more bass/boomy rather than tinny. Slightly lumpy idle, but more hunting rather than misfire I think.

Quite irritating!

No dash warnings, but it's making me nervous

I'm thinking the same as you, that it's engine rather than gearbox, as it happens in and out of gear.

Rar 110 - did I read somewhere you've got 250k plus on clock? Any tips on longevity? Are you servicing yourself?

Dammit. I've scared myself silly doing research.

EGR valve failure seems to start with my symptoms.

Find someone local who has one, go and compare sounds before throwing cash at it, then go find a recommended Indy.

Well, the dealer seems to think it is normal.

But, I've been using injector cleaner and have changed the fuel filter.

This has made quite an improvement.
