Towbar Fitting - Cutting required? 2006 Vogue SE

I am looking at towbar armatures and pfjones says on its ebay ads for the westfalia, 2005-2102 one, that the Vogue needs "visible cutting". I can't see this in the LR fitting instruction I downloaded from this site so can anyone tell me if it is peculiar to the pfjones supplied westfalia or if it also the case with the LR original part.

My concern is that the pfjones one is for 2005-2012, yet the LR one is for 2006-2012 because of different exhaust mounting arrangements. The LR one (from LR parts) is £100 more expensive but I will pay that for a neater finish.

Anyone done either/or and knows about cuts required?

I fitted the PF Jones Westfalia to my MY 2010 and didn't have to cut anything, this is from their website but obviously it doesn't say pre 2009 but its seems to be the same picture - I would suggest giving them a ring as actually further down the same EBay advert it says no visible cuts

OK, I will give them a call. £100 is better in my pocket.

My first thought was nearly ten years on Britain's road, I'll need to get an impact wrench to free the bolts up but had a go last night with the breaker bar and they seem free enough.

No excuse to buy a new bit of kit for the garage. Sad

I reckon the only time you'd have to cut anything is when your trying to fit it to an Overfinch or Kahn conversion with skirts..... The Westfalia is the exact same as the L/R except it doesn't have the L/R sticker...... But the L/R one does have the Westfalia on it Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
