handbrake done!

As mentioned in one of my previous posts, I decided to tackle the handbrake shoes, it wasn't working very well, and the car seemed to settle on the left side when I applied the handbrake.
Well all became clear when the disc was removed.
the cable wasn't attached Laughing
so a good clean and replacement of new shoes has done the trick.
I followed the workshop manual for adjustment, and backed the adjuster off 6 notches both sides.
up to tighten on o/s and down to tighten on nearside, then just back off till happy with the pull on the handbrake.
All working great now.
I've also had a scraping / rubbing noise coming from o/s of car, having done the rear and nothing untoward found, I decided to take the front
o/s wheel off, think I've found it, yes those b Censored y splash shields, managed to bend it back away from the disc, hopefully that's sorted that.
on taking the wheel off though, there was what looked like a stone inthe tread of the tyre, turned out to be a shard of metal, must have picked it up on an industrial estate we visited yesterday, and the tyres going down, so off to the tyre place this morning to get it fixed Big Cry
anyways another couple of jobs sorted Very Happy
