Short answer is a copy is NOT acceptable.
Try taking a copy of it and you'll see it's not as simple as you think it is... (there are some quite cool protections in place for taking copies of them, Surrey's aren't as good as Dyfed's were).

It's useful having a copy in case you lose it - I typically scan it into the computer and keep hold of that so if I did lose one then I at least have the right number and a list of the guns.

RFDs require the original to enter details on. Ed

Cool - thanks all - I have ordered a nice leather cert wallet to keep it nice and clean and will use the original.

As my licence came through I couldn't wait to get out there - So Im now the proud owner of a Beretta Silver Pigeon S - nearly new, shot around 250 carts as a demo gun. Got it about £500 cheaper than new so I'm happy.

Went out Saturday and shot around 150 shells to get some practice but I need to do a lot more . I look like the proverbial golfer with the gear a no idea at the moment - but it will come (i hope)

I do have a very clean gun though cos it kept coming out over the weekend and got a clean for the hell of it - I wanted to know what I was doing re cleaning as....

I still have a real grin on me right now - can't wait for the weekend to go out again... :

I'll resurrect the convo re a meet up if anyone is interested - either Fennes or Dartford would be good for me so shout if anyone else is up for it. Ash

Congrats on your first shotgun…good choice too as they handle really well.

Keep me in mind when making any clay shooting plans.

Now I have the bug I plan to go to Fennes this coming Saturday (weather permitting)

Be glad to have you join me if you wish.. I usually meet there around 8.30 or 9 - have a quick bite for breakfast (bacon roll and coffee) then an hour of missing clays and swearing...

I'd be up for it (I think I'm free) - haven't been to Fennes before.

Although it's going to take a couple of hours for me to get over there (I'm basically in Farnham) so would prefer the 9.30 end of the slot...

Do they allow plastic? Ed

Be glad to meet you as well - I believe they do allow plastic but have asked the question and will come back to you.

As far as meeting at 9.30 - fine with me - I'll probably get there early anyway but mainly for breakfast - Happy to wait for you or meet up shortly after wards whenever you get there.

I normally hang round to 11.30 anyway as I catch up with a couple of folks there so there is no rush on my part. Whenever suits. Ash
