Talking out of an RRS into an FFRR?

So, Dad was looking at getting a late L322 but has since decided he wants the new shape. So, pleased he still wants an RR full stop, we have planned to visit a local approved used dealer tomorrow.
However, he has now expressed a very strong interest in the RR Sport instead of an FF! ARGH! Bad taste alert!

Given that "you'll look like a drug dealer/footballer" doesn't seem to be holding much sway with him, can someone please provide a good technical reason (or several) to choose an FF over a Sport? My current best reasons are much better ride comfort (smaller wheels and softer suspension setup) and a roomier interior with a more practical roofline. Can anyone do better?
Would "every time you see a Full Fat you'll wish you'd gone that extra mile instead" cut much mustard do you think?

Thanks! NW060

I like the new Sport.

So, I'm talking about the old Sport. There's nothing wrong with it. But it's a rebodied Disco3-4. I've always thought that I'd prefer the D3-D4 and get the extra headroom, extra seating, and extra cargo space.

Also, checking used prices when I bought FFRR, there was little to no difference in price for the L322, so why settle for less if it won't cost you?

Just my 2p.

Look at how much they were new. One is built to less of a tighter budget and it shows. The FF is better value for money.... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

He just needs to drive both..........and then he will know . The sport is good but not as good at giving that "feeling" when driving . Thumbs Up

We did an Eastnor castle day in a 494 recently and in a 405 a year or two ago... I agree with the comments above, get dad to drive and be driven in both before he makes his decision... Whistle Thumbs Up

I didn’t rate the 494 at all! Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I put these points to him yesterday whilst we were out looking at cars. He agreed the 405 was the better choice..... however, there was a Jaguar showroom next door and we discovered that a very nice equivalent age and milage XJ with the same TDV6 is about £20k cheaper than an FF! As big a fan as I am of the RR, I can't argue that the elevated driving position and better loadspace make it £20k better than what is still a lovely, British made JLR product.
Oh well, you win some, you lose some!
He did say though that whilst he fancies an XJ for now, a 405 might be on the cards in a few years...... NW060

I don't really know a lot about the XJ other than they look gorgeous. I don't think I'd be unhappy with one as a daily driver.

I have an XJ and prefer the FFRR - Ok, my XJ is an older one (1999 XJ8) but the FFRR is more comfortable and for people like me with bad backs it makes more sense as I can literally step out of or into the car as opposed to the XJ that is very low and involves me dragging myself out of it on high kerbs. Room wise the FFRR wins hands down, as the Jag has a shallow boot and not much legroom (not saying the FF has a lot more but just a tiny bit, and it can obviously carry an awful lot more kit.

Don't get me wrong I love the XJ as its classic looks turn heads all the time but the FFRR is just so much more practical - so much so that I am selling the XJ and using the FFRR as my daily driver.

You will never regret driving the Jag and I love mine but I don't have the room for two cars so one must go. Cool
