It's indeed a sad world, where we can't repair anything, only change it.
Sadly the dealer should have suggested she went to an aftermarket stereo shop, and had it worked on. Even if both were changed, on front doors, probably get some change from £100.
Main dealers are too used to company vehicles, coming in, and going out all bills paid etc.
You should really ask for an estimate, or quote, before you give the go ahead.
But hindsight is a wonderful thing.
