[Sold] Genuine Land Rover Roof Rack 2002-2012

I have a Genuine L/R roof rack up for grabs, it is in reasonably good shape, but does have a very slight ding on the corner above the drives 'A' post, it is the later style and has the step in it to get over the Shark's Fin Aerial. I'm looking for £300, collection from Milton Keynes, assistance will be given to transfer to another ffrr

Ding is so slight that it really doesn't show... it took me 6 months to notice it Laughing

Craig was interested in mine but I ended up selling it to someone more local. Perhaps he's still interested? Ed

Forgive my stupidity but do i need anything else to fit this to my car ? I have the little plastic trim bits that push out. I am assuming the feet just fasten in there or do I need some other fixings ? 2008 TDV8

I assume that Paul will include the fixings.

Basically of you lift up the plastic trim carefully then there are some grub screws to remove (6mm if I remember correctly). Then the rack has a number of brackets that sit in the channel. You then locate the rack on all of them and place the screws through the whole stack and bolt into the roof.

Theoretically you should check tightness after a few hundred miles as it settles / shifts.

So in summary you need an Allen Key and possibly small screwdriver for lifting the flaps. Ed

can't see why not, the mounting points are in the same place and it has the raised bit for the antenna at the rear. Just wondering if the sharks fin on the latter models is a little larger though? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Do the flaps break in any way - I guess what I'm asking is when the roof rack is removed do the original plastic bits got back OK? Geoff

if you look at the pics you can still see the flaps in position, so i was assuming that they could be left on. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

They just fold up. The mounts are designed to sit over the top of the flaps.

You do need to be careful though as they are easy to snap. Ed

As Ed has said the flaps are just hinged out of the way, not snapped off like you do when fitting the roof rails.... this can be removed without a trace. And yes a full fitting kit will come with it along with assistance to fit it.... otherwise how else would you get it home? Thumbs Up

As far as fitting a later car goes, I'm happy to give it a try, they are listed as 2002-2009 but that might just be because they were described in 2009, and they couldn't see in to the future Wink

Is there a listing for 2010-2012 that is a different part number? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
