Poor Service?....But Good Quality

As they are site sponsors I thought I would give them a try and so on Sunday ordered from them a front brake disc and pad set together with a caliper cradle mounting bolt just in case I need one.
Apart from an email acknowledgement of my order and payment no further communication.
As a result I contacted them today ( Thursday) and find that my order hasn't even been dispatched yet, they are apparently waiting for the bolt which they "are expecting today". Seemingly reluctantly, they advise me I "should have my order tomorrow".
Given that no communication was forthcoming from Advanced Factors to explain the delay to my order I really do have to ask what planet are these people on?
I could have ordered these bits from a number of alternative supply sources with guaranteed next day delivery and thus had them on Tuesday. Or even gone for them and picked them up locally on Monday.

If Advanced Factors hadn't been site sponsors I wouldn't have even considered using them.

As the saying goes, "Once bitten, twice shy".

No doubt others have had good service, I don't consider I have.

I would agree we have let you down by not letting you know. The bolt was something we didn't have, only having sold one in several years, however we thought as you had selected the free delivery option rather than any quicker service that you were not in a rush. It did arrive as planned today and has been sent out for next day delivery.

Can I just say that when I dealt with Advanced Factors the way my enquiry was handled was absolutely perfect and I would thoroughly recommend them. Additionally, the fact that an apology was posted so soon after the OP had raised a concern demonstrates their approach to customer service. I have no affiliation to AF except for being a very happy customer.

Thanks for your response.
Good to hear everything is now in place and will be delivered tomorrow.
Whilst I did indeed select your free delivery option I really didn't really expect a bolt to delay things by 3-4 days.
I only ordered the bolt as I had a suspicion I might have to break out my Irwin kit to get one of the bolts out, needless to say it came out un-damaged in the end.
If you had communicated to me the potential delay caused by the bolt earlier it would have helped a lot.
Some of your competitors are very good with communication.

hiccups happen and seem to be very rare in AF's case.....i have nothing but shear admiration for Steves customer service, to the point where he asked a mechanic friend of his to do a free visit to my home to try and sort out a problem with some parts i ordered...., cant get better than that!... ... - .- -.

Thanks, funnily enough I intend to repeat the exercise on the rear brakes shortly. I'm honestly not after any special terms, I would just prefer to receive ordered items timeously and if that is not possible for any reason to be advised accordingly. Thumbs Up
Interestingly the front calipers I ordered from others at the same time arrived the next day with "Free Delivery"
I do appreciate I'm probably in the minority as regards your apparently excellent customer services but as I was once told, you're only as good as your last job.

Delivery times are down to the courier company.... if you select 3-5 day it means that they can take a week... but more often than not it arrives the next day as they don't want the parcel sitting about at their risk... If they are busy on the other hand they can take their time Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Well the discs and pad kit arrived from Advanced Factors at lunch time, all now fitted and working.
Whilst there may have been a hiccup with delivery I can't fault the quality of the parts supplied, more than happy with them. Borg and Beck discs and pads complete with new wear pad sensor and tube of threadlock.
As replacement parts for an earlier L322 I can only recommend them as worth considering. Thumbs Up
