Thanks Dan, that's the kiss of death for any older 3.6, Given Turbo's etc are over and above that price but I appreciate the effort it took getting a price for it. |

ive a mate with an old fashioned machine shop and would do it properly like it should be done, he's got a new V8 jag in this week and has done a few full fats and I would trust him without question to do mine if it went pop _____________________________________________________

The challenge is the lack of supply of parts to rebuild them with, given LR don't support all the parts. so you land up having to get stuff made or use second hand parts like all the cow boy reconditioning companies do, at least with the LR supplied engine it comes with 2 years warranty. |

As I've said these have done a few over five odd years and no issues, not ALL are crooks! I wouldn't put a new JLR lump in he's got a 2014 jag in this week and I'd let him do mine no worries and I've been in the car trade 35 years and have seen Cowboys and crooks and most were main dealers _____________________________________________________

At this stage I expect Trantorman is open to a reasonable offer for the car |

Car is on E bay along with 2 engines and loads of parts, new turbo's EGR valves, high pressure fuel pump etc I have lost the will to live with Landrover's currently, all though in fairness the car with a factory engine would represent good value motoring knowing you could easily run it for years and have no major engine based issues, everything else is really service related, so fixing it would still makes sense.
